Since 1937, Salt & Barrel’s family-owned restaurant has strived to serve a menu inspired by the long traditions of taking fresh seafood from the waters surrounding Long Island. Ever since the discovery of the Blue Point Oyster in the early 1900s, our area has been famous for fresh seafood from our abundant seas which continued in the 1970s with clam and scallop harvests and today with the thriving fishing industry in Montauk. Now Salt & Barrel has created a hip oyster and craft cocktail bar in Bay Shore to continue the tradition of providing the freshest fruits of the sea to our customers.

We serve locally sourced products as much as possible, thereby supporting our local community and showcasing the quality of local seafood and other foods. Salt & Barrel is conveniently located at 61 West Main Street in Bay Shore, NY. We offer happy hour Monday – Friday from 4-7 PM (we are closed on Tuesday), and Saturday and Sunday from 4-6 PM.
